## 2026 Rebate Tiers

Mass Save offers three rebate tiers based on your heat pump installation type. Maximum total rebate with bonuses: **$9,500**.

Up to $8,500

Whole-Home Rebate

Whole-home heat pump systems qualify for up to $8,500 at $2,650 per ton installed.

Up to $8,500

Partial Rebate

Partial heat pump installations qualify for up to $8,500 at $1,125 per ton installed.

Up to $2,500

Basic Rebate

Basic heat pump installations qualify for up to $2,500 at $250 per ton installed.

## Bonus Opportunities

Earn up to **$1,000 in additional bonuses** on top of your base rebate, for a maximum total of $9,500.

### Sizing Bonus

Earn an additional $500 bonus when your system is properly sized to meet full heating load.

### Weatherization Bonus

Get an extra $500 when you complete recommended weatherization improvements alongside installation.

## Heat Pump Water Heater — $750 Rebate

Replace your old water heater with an energy-efficient heat pump water heater and receive a $750 Mass Save rebate. These units use up to 70% less energy than conventional electric water heaters.

## 0% HEAT Loan Program

Finance your heat pump installation with **0% interest** through the Mass Save HEAT Loan — up to $25,000.

Up to $25,000  in 0% interest financing for qualifying energy upgrades. 

Loan terms of 3–7 years  based on income qualification level and project scope. 

Combines with rebates  — apply your rebate first, then finance the remaining balance at 0%. 

## Income-Qualified Program — No-Cost System

Households earning at or below **60% of the Area Median Income (AMI)** may qualify for a full heat pump system at no cost. This includes equipment, installation, and any necessary electrical work.

## Important 2026 Updates

### R-410A Refrigerant Banned

As of 2026, systems using R-410A refrigerant no longer qualify for Mass Save rebates. Only systems using next-generation refrigerants like **R-32 or R-454B** are eligible.

### Federal Tax Credit Expired

The federal 25C energy efficiency tax credit for heat pumps has expired and is no longer available for 2026 installations. Mass Save rebates remain the primary incentive.

### Deadline: February 28, 2027

Current 2026 Mass Save rebate program runs through **February 28, 2027**. Schedule your installation early to secure your rebate before the deadline.
