Important 2026 Updates
R-410A Refrigerant Banned
As of 2026, systems using R-410A refrigerant no longer qualify for Mass Save rebates. Only systems using next-generation refrigerants like R-32 or R-454B are eligible.
Federal Tax Credit Expired
The federal 25C energy efficiency tax credit for heat pumps has expired and is no longer available for 2026 installations. Mass Save rebates remain the primary incentive.
